In his article, T.G Mohandas details, from history as to how this spread had begun, while Girish P. details several recent and contemporary anecdotes that elaborate this premise. There are reports taken from Tehelka’s studies, as well as an article from the Washington Post (February 5, 2011) authored by Emily Wax that elaborate various strands of arguments to this effect.
